Monitoring and Evaluation Reference Group

ABOUT US

The UNAIDS Monitoring and Evaluation Reference Group (MERG) was established in 1998 to advise the UNAIDS joint on monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Following an independent assessment in 2011, the MERG was reconstituted as an independent global forum able to respond to the changing global HIV and AIDS environment. The fourteen (14) member body has met biannually since its reconstitution, deliberating on issues of M&E of the global AIDS response.The MERG Secretariat coordinates the work of several working groups, including the Indicator Working Group (IWG).

Evaluation repository

The UNAIDS evaluation repository aims to compile, summarize and disseminate available evidence on HIV evaluation in order to inform the global body of knowledge on HIV/AIDS.
